Instagram Shop is a streamlined way for users to discover shoppable products on Instagram. Offering a brand new menu shortcut, Instagram Shop is a gamechanger in how businesses make money directly on Instagram.

Launching a New Shopping Destination


It’s no secret that e-commerce business is growing, especially in 2020 where everything is virtual and based online. The current global pandemic was the main influence on this expansion, and the main reason behind Instagram creating Instagram Shop.


With so many businesses closing up and shutting down, especially in person, Instagram invested in features that INSPIRED people to shop, and made buying and selling online even EASIER.


Alongside supporting these businesses, there is also an obvious monetary incentive for Instagram to pivot towards e-commerce. The fee for any product sold using Instagram Checkout is 5% per shipment, or a flat fee of $0.40 for shipments of $8.00 or less.

Instagram shops offer a customizable storefront allowing people to shop directly on business profile pages.



SHOPPING TAGS

Shopping Tags allow businesses to highlight products from their catalog in Stories and in-feed, so people can learn more. Shops can also highlight products in post captions and in their bios with Product Mentions.



INSTAGRAM SHOP

Instagram Shop is an in-app shopping destination where people can discover products and brands they love from across Instagram.


COLLECTIONS

Collections allow businesses to customize their Instagram shop with an editorial POV by curating products into different themes.



PRODUCT DETAIL PAGE

Product detail pages are a product focused page that showcases all relevant information on an item, including pricing, rich descriptions and media. 



ADS WITH PRODUCT TAGS

Ads with product tags allow you to maximize the reach of your products by boosting shoppable posts or creating the ad from scratch in Ads Manager for more creative flexibility. 



LIVE SHOPPING

Live shopping unlocks a new channel for checkout-enabled businesses to sell products through their Instagram Live and form deeper connections with people in REAL-TIME.
