Your Instagram Pre-Post Checklist

As a business owner, you need your Instagram to do more than just COLLECT likes - you need it to drive SALES.

This means you need a little more than just a great photo!

Here’s a list of things to run through before you post to make sure you’re as OPTIMISED as possible:

Choose a Great Photo

Choose the proper image to post! You are going to want something eye-catching, with an interesting focal point.

If you are planning to build a coordinated, aesthetically-pleasing feed, aim for images that feature similar colours and use similar filters to give them the same VIBE.

Start Your Caption Well

Capture your audience’s ATTENTION by front-loading your caption. When someone is scrolling through Insta, they will see the first few lines of your caption before clicking ‘more’, so make sure that the part they do see is ENTICING. Starting with a question or intriguing statement works great!

Tag Your Location

Always tag your location! Tagging your location allows people who live or work near your tags feel ‘closer’ and more relatable to you.

Tagging your location also helps people to find your post, and also helps them to notice your business or brand if it is close to their area!

Tag People, Places and Things

Take a look in-depth at your photo and caption, and think about all the things that are taggable! This will make it more likely that people who ENGAGE with those accounts will see all of your posts and notice your profile.

For example, tag things such as location, brands of any piece of clothing or anything in the photo, your jewelry, etc.! People love to feel as though they KNOW you, and that includes what you like and what you like to do!

Use Your #HASHTAGS

You can use up to 30 hashtags on each Insta post, and it is a great idea to use ALL 30.

Make sure you mix it up and use both popular and niche hashtags, and make them as relevant as possible to your business and your post. Keep some hashtags consistent throughout all of your posts to get more eyes to all of your posts!
